Job Title: Retail Head

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve the cumulative revenue and profit targets for Retail Stores across the cluster.
  • Responsible for developing and directing all areas of store operations including sales, staffing, scheduling, training, supply chain, cash handling, inventory, and cost control.
  • Developing plans for the control of incoming and outgoing merchandise, proper ordering of merchandise, coordinating merchandise activities for sales promotions in the area of merchandise display and pricing, monitoring cash flow and budgeting, implementing weekly work schedules.
  • Developing talent within the team by providing consistent direction and support to achieve stretch targets and take leadership positions.
  • Develop plans for approval for all new business proposals including budget preparations, personnel, store design, product mix, pricing structures and marketing strategies.
  • Responsible for shaping the retail strategy within the business, ensuring that plans work and taking decisions on matters relating to day to day retail operations.
  • Driving and maximizing the sales and profitability of the store to achieve growth
  • Researching, identifying and evaluating opportunities for increasing income through retail trading.
  • Visiting stores on a regular basis and then writing up store visit reports and identifying areas for improvement
  • Increasing the departments sales revenue by improving retailer engagement and maximizing profit margins.
  • Ensuring that staff performance issues are addressed and resolved in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Maintaining accurate administrative records of all campaigns, pricing and sales figures.
  • Reviewing a stores performance and profitability on a regular basis.
  • Making sure all members of the sales team are engaging with customers in a positive way.
  • Imparting training to SM/ ASM / Cashiers on Product Knowledge, Merchandising, Inventory Management, Sales Planning, Sales Budgeting in co-ordination with the management.

Requirements

  • First Degree in Social Science or relevant field. M.Sc in related field is desirable.
  • 5+ years experience
  • Excellent command on Microsoft word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to take ownership, multi task, plan, and manage time effectively
  • Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals.
  • Good computer and database skills
  • Skills to plan and deliver results in a highly demanding environment
  • Analytical ability to analyze the available data
